Lancaster City Culture - Race Against Racism and Humanity Fest 2011

Lancaster City Culture - Race Against Racism and Humanity Fest 2011

Yesterday, much of what makes Lancaster City such a great place was evident at the YWCA’s 13th Annual Race Against Racism and Humanity Fest. I’ve put together a little photo tour (more about that in a minute).

But first, I’m still looking for YOUR ideas for a new name for my blog and I’m offering a terrific PRIZETWO FREE TIX ($50 value!!) to “Taste the World” Walking and Sampling Tour of seven of Lancaster City’s ethnic restaurants.

The focus of my blog will be all of the things that make up the “culture” of Lancaster City – and I’m looking for a new blog name that reflects that. Blog entries will include the arts, history, and the many people and organizations engaged in programs and projects to make this a great place to live – including environmental sustainability, restorative justice, social enterprise, and lots of other good work.

SO – if you haven’t submitted your ideas for a new name for my blog, put your thinking caps on, then CLICK ON OVER TO THIS LINK to submit your blog name ideas

Next, be sure to subscribe to or “follow” my blog so you’re sure to receive additional updates on the contest, get a chance to vote on the ideas that are submitted and, of course, find out whether you’ve won! You can “subscribe” or “follow” using one of the two options in the right hand column of this page (you might have to scroll back up to see them) – either enter your email address to sign up to receive an email notice when I post new blog entries, OR if you use Facebook, select the “CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW MY BLOG” option in the “Networked Blogs” icon in the right hand column of this page.

And now, on to the photo tour of the Race Against Racism and Humanity Fest. Enjoy! And, as always, thanks for reading!

Given last evening’s breaking world news and some of the early reaction and divisiveness it has already caused, today’s QUESTION OF THE DAY seems even more necessary and important.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: What will YOU do this week to “promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all”? Leave your ideas & comments below!
